Happy New Year! I am kicking off the New Year with both a new fitness AND a new nutrition program. This week’s menu is based on the 2B Mindset 7-Day Barre Blend Meal Plan.
New Year, New Programs
As someone who grew up dancing I am super excited about starting Beachbody’s newest program Barre Blend!
One of the things I really love about Beachbody On Demand is the variety of programs available. It’s got all of the classic programs from your favorite DVDs like 21 Day Fix and T25. But now instead of doing the same 5-7 workouts over and over for 21 or 60 days during a program they’ve added “real-time” programs. That means each and every workout is a little different. In 80 Day Obsession you get 80 different workouts. It allows you to progress and challenge yourself as you get stronger.
Several new Real-Time programs were introduced last year on Beachbody On Demand:
- Transform: 20
- 21 Day Fix & 21 Day Fix Extreme
- Morning Meltdown 100
- 6 Weeks of The Work
This year Beachbody on Demand has announced two new programs so far:
- Barre Blend
- 10 Rounds
I’ve mapped out my fitness plan for the year and will be starring with Barre Blend.
Barre Blend
Barre Blend is a fusion of ballet barre, Pilates and cardio interval training. The program is designed to chisel your waist, define your arms, lean out your legs and lift your booty.
The moves look simple and you use lighter weights but oh my the burn! I gave the sample workout a try and was sore the next day.

2B Mindset
You can do whatever nutrition program you’d like with Barre Blend. I’m a huge fan of Ultimate Portion Fix, but I’ve gotten questions about Beachbody’s other nutrition program 2B Mindset. And I’ve been a bit curious about it too. So I purchased the program and started going through the materials.
2B Mindset is very different from Ultimate Portion Fix. UPF is much more structured. I like structure so I’m having a hard time wrapping my head around 2B Mindset. But, I’m going to give it a try. And lucky for me, and anyone else trying the program, they’ve got a couple of different meal plans with recipes to get you started.
One of the biggest differences between the two nutrition programs is the amount of meals you eat. With UPF you eat breakfast, lunch, dinner and two snacks. On 2B Mindset snacks are optional. Instead of 5 smaller meals throughout the day, your main meals (breakfast, lunch & dinner) are designed to keep you full till the next meal.
This week I am following the Barre Blend 2B Mindset 7-Day Meal Plan. There are a variety of recipes that can be found in the 2B Mindset program materials and on the Beachbody blog.
