This week I plan to transition back to regular Portion Fix after following 4 Week Gut Protocol for the past two months. Learn what the the differences are between 4 Week Gut Protocol and Portion Fix and see what is on this week’s meal plan.
4 Week Gut Protocol vs Portion Fix
As I transition back to regular Portion Fix after following 4 Week Gut Protocol, I wanted to see what the differences are between the two nutrition programs. I started by looking at the two plans side by side. For 4 Week Gut Protocol I fall under Plan A. But for Portion Fix I am usually a Plan B. So I created a table to compare the two eating plans.
As you can see there are a few differences in the plans along with some similarities.
First, the number of red containers (protein) is the same. However, with 4WGP your proteins are broken down into A (animal) and B (plant-based). One thing to note is the Food Lists are different for the two plans. For example, Quinoa, Beans & Edamame count as Red B’s on 4WGP and on Portion Fix they count as Yellow (carbs).
The other differences include:
- 1 less Purple (fruit) on 4WGP
- 2 more Greens (vegetables)
- 1 less Yellow (carbs) on 4WGP
- 1 less Teaspoon (oils & nut butters) on 4WGP
My plan is to go back to regular Portion Fix but keep some of the principles on 4WGP. I plan to remain mostly gluten & dairy free. I also plan to stay with the mix of plant-based and animal proteins.
