This weekend marks the unofficial start to Summer! Check out what is on this week’s meal plan and ideas to keep Summer cooking simple.

Simple Summer Cooking
Summer is a time when many are out enjoying warm weather activities like the beach or lounging by the pool. The last thing I want to do after a day in the sun is come inside and stand over a hot stove.
Here are some of my tips for simple Summer cooking:
- Eat In-Season Fruits & Veggies- Whether you grow your own food, visit a farmer’s market or get your produce from the grocery store in-season fruits and vegetables are easy to prepare and will save you money. Tomatoes & cucumbers can be tossed together for a quick salad. Cherries make a sweet dessert. Zucchini can be tossed on the grill for a healthy side dish.
- Prep Ahead- If you know you’re going to be out all day do a little meal prep the night before or in the morning before you head out. Simple meal prep ideas include tossing all your ingredients into a ziploc bag to marinate. Then grill them up when you’re ready to cook.
- Take advantage of different cooking methods- I plan to make full use of the grill, air-fryer, and sheet pan meals this Summer.
- Salads & Sandwiches- These are a great option for simple Summer lunches or dinners.
