Make homework time less stressful by having everything you need at your fingertips. When it’s time to do homework just bring the caddy to the table. Our homework caddy is filled with: pencils, scissors, glue and a ruler. I also keep crayons, markers, a writing pad and drawing pad nearby. You probably bought school supplies for the classroom but don’t forget to pick up some extra ones for homework assignments.
School starts Monday and I don’t know about you but mornings are not my thing. They’re not my son’s either. We’ve been Easing into our Back to School Routine by going to bed and getting up earlier but I still think it’s going to be rough in the mornings. Here are a couple of tips I’ve put together to help make school mornings a little easier and less hectic.
Trust me, just don’t. It’s been a rainy week here in Texas and since I practically live in flip-flops in the Summer I have to remind myself before I go out to put on real shoes. A few things happen when you wear flip-flops in the rain: Continue reading “Tip Tuesday | Tip #33”

Don’t try to lose weight by not eating. It’s recommended that you eat 5-6 small meals a day to fuel your metabolism. People often remark that I’m always eating. Yep, pretty much, every 3 hours! Continue reading “Tip Tuesday | Tip #32”
I’ve seen so many cute rompers this Summer and really wanted to add some to my closet along with some comfy dresses. So, for my last fix of the Summer I requested a rompers & dresses only fix. That’s the great thing about Stitch Fix, you can request items you’d like them to send you when you schedule a shipment. While you can schedule automatic monthly fixes, right now I’ve got my account set to ship on demand. So whenever I’m feeling like my closet needs a refresh or have a special occasion coming up I schedule a fix and leave my stylist detailed notes about what I’d like or let it be a surprise. So many options. Read my post about Getting the Most Out of Stitch Fix to learn more.
August means it’s almost time to head back to school. I don’t know about you but I’ve been enjoying a summer without alarm clocks and bedtimes. In order to make the first week of school less of a shock to our system I like to ease us back into the school year with a bedtime routine. We start 4 weeks out and increase our bed & wake-up times by 15 minutes until school starts. Read more about how we Ease into our Back to School Routine here and download my free printable schedules.
Today I’m sharing with you how I save money on my favorite snow cones and enjoy them straight from my freezer. No, this is NOT a sponsored post, I really am just that obsessed with Bahama Buck’s snow cones. Anytime I tell someone my snow cone secret I always get the same reply, “I didn’t know you could do that, what a great idea!”
I’ve made a video to tell you all about it and B even joined in on the fun, although he was a bit nervous in front of the camera 🙂
Yes, as much as my husband likes to make fun of me I am in a Bunco group. And I love it! To my husband, Bunco was something his mother used to do and yes the first group I subbed in was with some neighbors who are a little older than me. But my current group is filled with ladies that are about the same age as me and are in the same season of life.
In my opinion it’s important to surround yourself with like-minded people as you go through different seasons in life. When B was a baby I had a group of ladies that I would get together with, aka a Playgroup. We would share all our latest baby raising stories, ask our “is this normal questions”, enjoy a reason to get dressed and out of the house and some adult conversation. I’ve always felt really lucky to have had that sort of support as a new mom. Now as a mom of an elementary schooler it’s been great to have a group to talk with about new challenges and get ideas from.
