It’s Week 2 of the 21 Day Fix for us so I’ve got another week of color coded meals planned. I created a modified version of my “On the Diet” Menu Planning System for the 21 Day Fix. I’ve got colored coded cards for each food group to help me mix things up a bit. I usually start planning lunch and dinner and fill in the other containers after I have those set. I’m working on making these systems available to you in the near future. Continue reading “Weekly Menu 1/15/17”
I was recently given the opportunity to try out the new men’s clothing service ThreadLab. According to their website ThreadLab is “a scientific, data-driven men’s clothing service for regular guys who don’t like to shop. (No Subscription required.)”

This week we’re kicking off our 2017 Fitness Plan with the 21 Day Fix. I usually struggle to put together this meal plan. It’s hard for me because when I plan our menu I think in terms of recipes. The 21 Day Fix (see my full review here) uses a color coded portion control system and requires you to think in terms of food groups. I usually try to break the recipes down into the food groups but this time I used my newly created 21 Day Fix Menu Planning System! It’s similar to my “On the Diet” Menu Planning System. I may have hinted at this before but I’m super excited to be working on making my simple Meal Planning Systems available to you soon! Let me know if you’ve like to be in the test group. Anyway, the 21 Day Fix is always a great way to be more conscious about what we’re eating and put our eating habits back on the right track. Continue reading “Weekly Menu 1/8/17”

Fitness is always on the top of many New Year’s Resolution lists. In order to keep my fitness goals I started planning out my fitness programs for the year (See my 2016 Plan). I don’t really enjoy working out so having a program to follow helps me stay on track and stay motivated. Also, I work out first thing in the morning to make sure I get it done. As a non-morning person this mean my brain is not fully functioning so not having to think about what I’m going to do is a plus. I literally roll out of bed, put on work out clothes, brush my teeth, pull my hair up in a messy pony tail, grab some water, consult my work out schedule, pop in the dvd and start following along. Some days it’s a slow start, arms crossed, halfway doing the warm-up, yawning, pouty face. But, eventually I get into it a little more and push harder. Vacations are always a good motivator!
I’ve mapped out a workout plan for the year with all my favorite Beachbody programs to help me stay on the right track. Actually doing the programs helps me push myself a little harder because I like to check off the boxes and complete each program. Otherwise I end up picking the easiest or quickest workout just to get it done. Check out my full reviews for 21 Day Fix, T25, Brazil Butt Lift, and 10-Minute Trainer. Be on the lookout for a review of Core de Force soon! Continue reading “Mapping Out a Fit 2017”

Happy New Year! Since I was a kid my family has gone out to eat for lunch on New Year’s Day at the Black Eyed Pea where we’d kick-off the new year with black eyed peas for luck and cabbage for wealth. Unfortunately, after all these years they’ve closed down. Not sure where we will end up for lunch but just in case I bought some black eyed peas and cabbage to have for dinner. I can’t believe we’ve already reached the end of another year. This has been my blog’s 2nd year in existence and I’m proud to say that I was able to accomplish some things that might seem small to others but were a big deal to me. I started this blog as a way to share ideas that have been working well to keep my family organized, fit, fed and having fun. Everyone has their own thing that they are good at and staying organized, creating systems to make life easier, cooking, and creative, fun little ideas seem to be mine. My hope is that other people will find an idea that works for them to make their life easier or more fun. Happy people generate happiness. I also really enjoy the creative outlet of blogging and the fact that it helps me learn something new almost everyday. Something as little as learning how to adjust the spacing on my header and menu bar using html makes me feel SO accomplished and gets me excited. I know, I’m a total weirdo.

A few years ago my family started celebrating Christmas like different countries do around the world. It’s a fun way to learn about other countries and cultures. I always research the traditional foods and customs. Last year we had a Mexican Christmas Celebration. Christmas is widely celebrated in Mexico so it wasn’t hard to find information to help plan our celebration. This is my family’s take on Christmas in Mexico.

I’ve had canker sores or mouth ulcers since I was in 2nd grade. I remember visiting the nurse and she would have me swish with a capful of 1/2 water 1/2 hydrogen peroxide. Yuck! Since then I’ve tried a variety of canker sore remedies including alum, salt, sauerkraut juice and who knows what else. Today, I’m sharing the canker sore remedies that actually work for me.
