It’s a busy week around here. My son is going to his very first sleep away camp. It’s my husband’s birthday. And I’m hosting Bunco. I’ve kept my LIIFT4 menu pretty simple this week. I’m also sharing my menu plans for the Hawaiian-style Bunco Luau I’m hosting.
Camp
My son is leaving this week for his first sleep away camp. His 3rd grade teacher told him that this is a grow up year and it definitely has been.
To be honest with you I may have shed a few tears when I signed him up for camp. It’s just crazy to think about how much he’s grown up. This will be the longest amount of time he’s been away from home or his parents. I know he’ll have a blast and it will be good for him. Doesn’t mean I won’t miss him like crazy though. I’ve told him to make sure he writes us and gets in every possible picture because I’ll be checking the camp app non-stop.
I have had a lot of fun organizing his camp trunk and putting together care packages for him. As a first time camp mom I’ve read just about everything on the camp’s website and Pinterest.
Bunco Luau
While my son is away I do plan on having some fun! We will have a date night for my husband’s birthday. Then, Thursday night I am hosting Bunco at my house. I like to pick a theme for food and decor. Inspired by our recent trip to Hawaii I am hosting a Bunco Luau.
Here’s what I’m planning for the menu:
- Slow Cooker Pulled Pork on Hawaiian Rolls
- Sausage & Pineapple Party Bites
- Pineapple Cheese Ball w/ crackers
- Taro Chips
- Tropical Fruit Salad
- Chocolate Lava Cakes
- Mai Tais
