Combining Containers

Autumn says it’s better to combine your containers at each meal. You should eat at least 2-3 containers together to ensure you are getting a balance of macronutrients. Your Blue & Orange containers (healthy fats) are meant to be used with the other container colors. 

 I like to think of my meals as breakfast, lunch, dinner and two snacks. The color combo meal cards in my shop are super helpful for portion control meal planning.

Watermelon Blueberry Spinach Salad with Feta

  • 1 cup Spinach
  • 1/2 cup Watermelon
  • 1/2 Blueberries
  • 1/2 blue container Chopped Walnuts
  • 1/2 blue container Feta
  • Balsamic Vinegar

Combine first 5 ingredients and drizzle with Balsamic Vinegar.

Jicama Tacos with Guacamole & Mango

  • Jicama Tortilla
  • Shredded Carrots
  • Guacamole
  • Mango Slices

Place shredded carrots in jicama tortilla and roll up. Dip in guacamole. 

Strawberry Spinach Salad with Almonds

  • Spinach
  • Sliced Strawberries
  • Almonds
  • Splash of Balsamic Vinegar

Combine spinach, strawberries and almonds. Drizzle with balsamic vinegar.

Peach Spinach Salad with Cashews

  • Sliced Peaches
  • Cashews
  • Splash of Balsamic Vinegar

Combine spinach, peaches and cashews. Drizzle with balsamic vinegar.

Breakfast Sandwich & Strawberries 

Breakfast sandwich

  • Turkey Sausage Patty
  • 1/2 Whole Wheat English Muffin 
  • 1 cup Baby Spinach
  • 1 cup Strawberries

Toast English Muffin half. Cut in half. Warm turkey sausage. Place on one half of English muffin. Top with spinach. Place other half of English muffin half on top and enjoy! Serve with sliced strawberries. 

BLT Wrap & Pear 

Turkey BLT Wrap

  • 4 slices Turkey Bacon
  • 1/2 cup Baby Spinach
  • 1/2 cup chopped Tomatoes
  • 1 Whole Wheat Tortilla
  • Pear

Place turkey bacon, spinach and tomatoes on tortilla. Wrap up and enjoy! Serve with pear. 

Chicken & Spinach Wrap, Apple

  • Chopped Rotisserie Chicken
  • Sautéed Spinach
  • Whole Wheat Tortilla
  • Olive Oil
  • Apple

Place chicken and spinach in tortilla. Drizzle with olive oil.  Roll tortilla and enjoy! Serve with apple on the side.

Tuna Wrap with Apple Slices

  • 3/4 cup Tuna
  • 1/2 cup Chopped Apple
  • 1/2 cup Chopped Pickles
  • 1 tsp Low Fat Mayo
  • 1/2 cup Shredded Lettuce
  • 1 Wheat Tortilla 
  • 1/2 cup Apple Slices

Combine tuna, chopped apple, chopped pickles and mayo. Place in center of wheat tortilla, roll up & enjoy! Serve apple slices on the side. 

Ham & Spinach Pasta 

Ham and Spinach Pasta

  • 3/4 cup Chopped Ham
  • 1 cup Baby Spinach
  • 1/2 cup Whole Wheat Pasta
  • Balsamic Vinegar

Combine all ingredients and enjoy! Also delicious with a sprinkle of parmesan cheese.

  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 cup Spinach
  • 1 slice Whole Wheat Bread

Cook eggs until almost done. Add Spinach and cook for a few minutes more mixing together eggs & spinach. Toast bread. Butter counts as a tsp.
