What does MBF stand for
First things first, what does MBF stand for? MBF stands for Muscle Burns Fat. This simple philosophy is what #mbf and #mbfa are all about.
#mbf & #mbfa Overview
#mbf Muscle Burns Fat & #mbfa Muscle Burns Fat Advanced are two 3-week fitness programs designed to be done back to back. Much like 21 Day Fix & 21 Day Fix Extreme.
First, you’ll tackle the beginner program #mbf. Then, once you’ve mastered that program, move on to the intermediate program #mbfa.
Both programs include strength training and cardio to help you build lean muscle and burn fat. Full-body workouts are set to music. The moves are simple so you can let the tempo set your pace.
#mbf & #mbfa Workouts
There are 7 workouts per week. Each workout is about 25-40 minutes.
Monday, Wednesday and Friday are strength training days. The program includes both asymmetrical (one weight instead of two) and symmetrical training. According to trainer Megan Davies, “When you’re lifting one weight, your body is forced to compensate for the imbalance, which engages your core. By challenging your body, you’ll burn more calories and get the most out of each workout.”
Tuesdays & Thursdays are cardio days. You’ll do AMRAPs (as many rounds as possible) incorporating the BOD Rope. Be sure to subscribe and download my AMRAP trackers in my FREE Resource Library.
The #mbfa workouts add in Megan Minutes. At the end of each set you’ll be challenged to go heavier for a one minute burn-out.
Saturday workouts feature EMOMs (every minute on the minute). These might be the shortest workouts of the week but they are the toughest.
Sundays are recovery days featuring stretches to revitalize your muscles so you’re rested and ready for another week. After a week of hard work you’ll need this active recovery. I love how intentional Megan is with her movement.
Need a bit more? There are also 10 minute Bonus Workouts including Core, Lower Body Ignite, Upper Body Ignite and Full Body Ignite.
Traveling? You don’t have to miss a workout because you don’t have access to equipment. Take your workout with you using the On The Go options including Core Circuit & Full Body Burn.

Who Is Megan Davies
Megan is no stranger to Beachbody. She was the winner of Beachbody’s fitness reality show, The 20s. Following the show she created Clean Week, a program that helps you create healthy habits in just 7 days.
Megan Davies is an experienced personal trainer who has spent years training clients and expanding her skills, earning certifications from NSCA and CPTS, and opening her own gym.

#mbf & mbfa Results
The goal of the program is to help you build muscle so you can burn fat. Looks like it worked well for Liz!
I loved #mbf & #mbfa and so did my husband. In fact, he said it is his favorite Beachbody program we’ve ever done and we’ve done quite a few.
The workouts are tough. If you use the weight tracker to push yourself you will definitely build muscle. I was sore in places and ways I’ve never been sore before.
I really enjoyed Megan’s training style and personality. I liked how the workouts were organized and built on each other.
I couldn’t believe how many new moves I was introduced to through the program. I’ve been working out for a long time and have done a variety of programs. But Megan taught me new moves I’ve never done before and challenged me in new fun ways.
As a former gymnast Megan loves to work those shoulders. She’s crazy strong. Which means my shoulders are now much stronger and toned as well as my core (front & back), booty and legs.
Another area she focuses on is hip mobility. Her favorite stretch- catcher’s stretch. It was quite difficult for me at first. But by the end of #mbfa I was actually able to do it with ease.
I also noticed that some of the strength moves I found difficult became much easier by the end, meaning I gained strength.
