December is here and the holiday season is in full swing. This week I’m talking about planning healthy snacks for when guests come to visit. Check out what is on this week’s menu and learn some easy snack ideas for guests.
Guest Snack Ideas
One thing I realized I overlooked during Thanksgiving was snacks I could serve my guests before the big meal.
My sister and her family came over early and while I had a snack planned for myself (Turkey BLT Wrap), I didn’t plan anything that was suitable to set out for guests to nibble on. Hostess fail!
Planning snacks for guests doesn’t mean you have to go off your eating plan. You can still serve healthy snacks that fit with your meal plan. And the snacks don’t have to be overly complicated. Get fancy with an artistically designed charcuterie board if that’s your thing or just grab a party tray from the grocery store.
Here are a few ideas for easy snacks to have on hand if you’re expecting guests:
- Fruit- berries, grapes, melon, pineapple
- Veggies & Dip- mini carrots, grape tomatoes, celery sticks, jicama sticks
- Cheese- cubes or slices
- Nuts- Cashews, Almonds, Pecans
These are all healthy snack ideas that will keep you fueled and save those yellow containers for drinks & desserts.
