Many of the meals on this week’s meal plan may look familiar. Why? Because they were on last week or the week before’s menu. See what is on this week’s menu and how to make use of those times when your meal plan and reality don’t match up.
Meal Plan vs Reality
I consider myself to be a meal planning expert. I’ve been planning out my meals each week for many years now. The planning part I’ve got down. The actual execution of the plan doesn’t always go so well.
This past week we didn’t follow the meal plan. Monday was busy with last minute back to school errands so I picked up dinner while I was out. Tuesday I wasn’t feeling that great so I didn’t cook that night either. Wednesday I actually cooked dinner but it wasn’t the meal that was planned for that night.
This isn’t the first time this has happened, nor will it be the last. I even did a whole series documenting my meal plan vs reality for a week.
But you know what, that’s just life. The good news is, when your meal plan doesn’t go as planned it makes planning for the next week that much easier.
Rollover Meal Plan
Meals that you didn’t eat the week before can simply be rolled over to the next week’s meal plan.
During the week be sure to freeze things that are freezable to preserve them. For items that can’t be frozen put them early on your meal plan so you can eat them before they spoil.
