It’s back to school time here. This week I’m sharing a few meal planning tips for back to school. Check out what is on this week’s meal plan.

Back to School Meal Planning
With the kids back in school things can get pretty busy. Here are a few tips to make eating healthy easy during this busy time of year.
- Break Down Tasks– Don’t try to get all your meal planning, shopping and prep done at once. Space out the different tasks so you don’t get overwhelmed. Even better, pick a day of the week to do each one. I usually plan my meals on Wednesday, write my grocery list on Thursday, shop on Friday and prep on Sunday. Having a certain day for each task will help you get into a routine.
- Plan Around Activities – You can plan the perfect healthy, home-cooked meals but if you’re not home to actually cook them all you’ve done is waste time. Make sure you take into account how much time you have to cook when planning out your meals. Slow cooker meals are a great way to get dinner on the table if you’re out running kids around before dinner.
- Car Pool – If your child has practice three nights a week there’s no reason you have to drive to practice three nights a week. Make friends with other parents on your child’s team and set up a car pool. I got with two other moms from my son’s soccer team and now we each only have to drive to practice once a week. That means the other two nights I’m available to cook dinner.
