This will be my second week following the 4 Week Gut Protocol. After a week of following the program I’ve got a few things figured out. Check out this week’s Gut Protocol meal plan and some of my meal planning tips for the program.
Gut Protocol Meal Planning Tips
After my first week on the 4 Week Gut Protocol I’ve figured out a few things to make meal planning easier. First of all, I’ll let you know I did not get it right the first time around. And you shouldn’t expect to either. It’s a brand new meal plan. It takes time to figure things out and get it right. So give yourself some grace if your first couple of weeks aren’t perfect.
Last week I tried planning two days, alternating them and then buying some extra ingredients to swap out. I know Autumn likes to throw meals together on the fly but it was just too much thinking for me trying to make sure I was getting the right containers. Plus trying to think while I was hungry was not a good combination.
So realized I needed to set up a meal plan template like I am used to doing. The idea behind the meal plan template is to pair up the containers so I can start to know what to have for each meal. The template is just a starting point. This meal plan is not like 80 Day Obsession Timed Nutrition where the blocks of containers had to stay together. It’s more like Foundational Fix where you can pair the containers up however you’d like. Let me know if you’d like me to create 4 Week Gut Protocol Meal Plan templates for each eating plan and I’ll make those available in my Resource Library.
After I set up my meal plan template then I pulled up all the recipes I wanted to try. I started with the dinner recipes and made any container adjustments I needed to based on the recipe. Then I chose two breakfast options for the week and two afternoon snack options. While I usually have leftovers for lunch I realized that doesn’t work very well with this meal plan. So I created two lunch options I can meal prep and alternated those during the week.
I’m super excited about this week’s meal plan and look forward to trying some of the new Gut Protocol recipes.
