Does that image look familiar? Yep, it’s the same as last week’s meal plan image. Why? Because I didn’t make any of the items in the image last week and I’m rolling them over to this week. Check out this week’s meal plan and learn why meal planning doesn’t have to be perfect.
Imperfect Meal Planning
Meal planning isn’t meant to be perfect. Having a plan is great and can really help you stay on track. But as we all know, life happens and the best laid plans can suddenly get tossed out the window.
For example, last week I didn’t completely follow the plan I laid out. Monday, I ended up taking my son to an appointment in the evening. Afterward he asked me to drop him off at school to watch a basketball game. By the time I got home there wasn’t much time to make dinner. Instead, we had leftovers from the night before.
Then later in the week his school was having a fundraiser at a local restaurant. Those are my favorite fundraisers by the way. I get to not cook dinner and help the school raise money! Heck yeah!
Those two meals didn’t get made this week. So I just rolled them over to this week’s meal plan. I also never made the breakfast scramble and forgot to buy strawberries for the strawberry spinach salad. Woohoo! Two more meals to roll over.
Instead of getting frustrated that I didn’t follow the plan exactly, I view it as one less meal (or meals) I have to come up with for the next week.
