I’ve seen so many cute rompers this Summer and really wanted to add some to my closet along with some comfy dresses. I requested a Stitch Fix Summer rompers & dresses only fix. That’s the great thing about Stitch Fix, you can request items you’d like them to send you when you schedule a shipment. While you can schedule automatic monthly fixes, right now I’ve got my account set to ship on demand. So whenever I’m feeling like my closet needs a refresh or have a special occasion coming up I schedule a fix and leave my stylist detailed notes about what I’d like or let it be a surprise. So many options. Read my post about Getting the Most Out of Stitch Fix to learn more.
My sister is about 6 years younger than me and our styles are very different. She wasn’t too sure about the personal styling service, especially because our taste in clothes is so different. My style profile is quite traditional vs. her boho style.
But since the Stitch Fix gift card I gave her covered the $20 styling fee there was no risk and she decided to give it a try (the styling fee ends up going toward any items you decide to keep). The first step was filling out her style profile. I wish I had recorded her reading the questions because she was cracking me up. I did snap a pic though. If you read my 10th Stitch Fix Review you’re probably thinking, “what is going on, I thought you broke up with Stitch Fix?”. Well, not so fast. Sometimes you don’t realize what you’ve got till it’s gone.
I tried shopping on my own and it just wasn’t that great. In fact I may have described it as miserable. Trekking out in the rain, driving 45 minutes away to try out my Nordstrom Rack shopping skills. Going through rack after rack of clothes that weren’t my size or style. Trying on a few items without the proper undergarments (strapless bra, tank tops, etc.) in a cold dressing room. Only to leave with a necklace and T-shirt. The best part of the shopping trip was probably spending time with my sister and realizing what the value of Stitch Fix truly is for me. I just received my 10th,
and probably final *, Stitch Fix shipment. It started out great. I loved the colors Kate had selected for me. I liked all but one piece I received but was going to keep it all. The 25% discount for keeping everything made it cheaper to keep the dress I wasn’t too sure about. Then I went to Charming Charlie and my love affair with Stitch Fix quickly ended. See why this was almost my last Stitch Fix review. Continue reading “Stitch Fix Review #10 – My Discovery”
My stylist, Kate, really did a great job picking items that fit me perfectly for my 9th Fix! First off, hallelujah for Stitch Fix petite sizes! My stylist chose a petite maxi skirt for me and I can wear it without walking all over it or holding it up while I walk. My short girls know what a huge win this is.
Still haven’t tried Stitch Fix or are unsure what it’s all about? Read my What Is Stitch Fix post to learn all about it. Basically you fill out a profile to let them know what you like, and your stylist sends you five items, which you try on at your convenience in your home, choose what you want to keep and send the rest back in the pre-paid envelope. You can even arrange for it to be picked up at your front door for free. I’ve really enjoyed the variety of clothes and accessories I’ve received and it’s helped me branch out and try new styles.
This month’s fix was a winner and I ended up keeping all five items. One of the items I ended up giving to a friend. With the 25% discount for keeping all five items it was cheaper to keep it than send it back. Continue reading “Stitch Fix Petite – Review #9”
