With the launch of the new 4 Week Gut Protocol Cookbook, I thought it would be fun to create a meal plan with recipes exclusively from the cookbook. Check out this month’s meal plan and get your 4WGP Cookbook!
4 Week Gut Protocol Cookbook
The 4 Week Gut Protocol is designed to promote overall gut health and help you find foods that may be causing digestive issues. The premise of the 4 Week Gut Protocol is simple: Isolate common foods that may cause food sensitivities or intolerances.
You can read more about the 4 Week Gut Protocol program in my post: The 4 Week Gut Protocol .
The program comes with a number of recipes. Creator Autumn Calabrese and her brother Chef Bobby put together a cookbook with over 100 new recipes to help you add variety to your meal plans. The recipes are tasty and simple to make. However, I will warn you to carefully review the ingredient list before getting ready to make your meals. There are some recipes that list total time to make as 20 minutes. But if you look at the ingredient list you realize you need some already cooked ingredients, which means your cooking time will be longer. Unless of course you buy things like pre-cooked chicken and bacon.
4 Week Gut Protocol Recipe Reviews
So far I’ve made these recipes from the cookbook:
- Cauli Drop Biscuits with Sausage Gravy- these turned out really good and were easy to make. The cooking time is a bit long and you need cooked bacon.
- Chickpea Sweet Potato Hash- this is a very colorful meal that was simple to make and tasty. I purchased pre-cut sweet potatoes to make prep even easier.
- BBQ Chicken and Coleslaw Bowl- This got a very good rating from my family. My husband said it needs to be added into the rotation. This recipe shows 15 minutes total time but you will need to add additional cook time unless you’re using pre-cooked chicken.
- Watermelon “Fries” with coconut Lime Dip- This was a quick & easy to make delicious snack.
I’m looking forward to making more recipes from the cookbook. My plan is to try 1-2 new ones each week.
