To celebrate my sister’s upcoming wedding I hosted a fun girl’s night out bachelorette party. We meet up at my house for snacks, drinks, games and a lingerie shower. Then we headed out for dinner & a show and an evening out on the town. Here are all the details to help you plan a bachelorette party of your own or just a fun girls night out.
Bachelorette Party
We did the bachelorette party the same day as my sister’s Bridal Shower so her bridesmaids who were from out of town didn’t have to travel in twice. It made for a busy day but worked out well.
Invitations
For invitations I like to use Evite. The online digital invitation service makes it so much simpler to manage events. You can see who has received the invitation, reach out to those who haven’t responded and send out updates & reminders. I mailed the shower invites and didn’t know who received them and who didn’t. I always worry someone is not going to receive their invitation. Evite also makes it easier for guests to RSVP.
My sister isn’t much into going out and bar hopping so the main event of her bachelorette party was at Prohibition, a 20’s themed supper club & burlesque show in Houston.
Drinks
Before we headed downtown everyone met at my house for drinks and snacks.
I found this cute Pink Panty Dropper sign on Pinterest from Kelsie’s Cook Book and printed it out. I didn’t follow the recipe she used. My Pink Panty Dropper consisted of Pink Lemonade, Malibu Rum and Fresca. No measurements, just whatever felt and tasted right.
Bachelorette Party Games
We played this fun Porn or Polish game I found on Pinterest from Sandy’s Signatures. I headed to Target to search for nail polishes with naughty sounding names. I found a nice selection of Essie nail polishes, they even had one called Bachelorette Bash! To play, print out the nail polish names on business cards and throw in some actual adult film names. Each attendee selects a card and has to guess if the title on the card is an adult film title or the name of a nail polish. If they guess correctly they keep the polish! We all had a good time laughing at the titles/polish names.
Next, the bachelorette went through the box of “personality panties” and tried to match the pair of panties with the giver. It was not an easy task and many guests came up with cute & clever ways that the panties they brought represented them.
After opening lingerie gifts our limo party bus arrived to take us downtown to Prohibition.
A party bus is really the best & most fun way to travel as a group! On the way down we played a “Drink If…” game I found on Pinterest from We Know How to Do It.
Dinner & A Show
We had a great time at Prohibition! The food is really good and the dancers are really talented. Prohibition is housed in a historic theatre in downtown Houston and brings back that roaring 20’s vibe. Many people in the audience go all out and dress in their finest 20’s attire. Feather hair pieces were as far as we went. The show has become very popular. The showtime we wanted sold out so we had to attend the earlier show. I told my sister I felt like I was throwing an old lady bachelorette party since our festivities started so early. After the show we headed to Howl at the Moon, a piano bar that is sure to have something for everyone. We had a great time singing, dancing and celebrating the bride to be!
