I’m continuing with my themed meal plans. This week’s theme is healthy slow cooker recipes. I’m hoping to save myself some time & effort by cooking in my crock pot. Check out what’s on this week’s menu.
Slow Cooker Meal Plan Tips
This week’s menu features dinners that are all made in the slow cooker. For the past couple of week’s I’ve been so tired when it comes time to cook dinner I’m hoping this will help make getting dinner on the table easier.
I only have one Crock Pot but plan to use my Instant Pot on the slow cooker setting as well.
Although cooking with the slow cooker is pretty easy there are some things you should do to avoid an “oops, I forgot to start the crock pot” dinner time nightmare.
- Prep– Prepare everything and place it in your slow cooker the night before, then store it in the fridge till it’s time to cook. You could even prep all your meals at the beginning of the week and store them into ziplock bags or containers until it’s crock pot time.
- Remind– Set a calendar reminder for when you need to start the crock pot. Cooking dinner in the slow cooker takes a lot of time, hence the name “slow cooker.” But it’s great because you can turn it on and let it do all the work. The hardest part is remembering to turn it on so set a reminder.
We’ve all probably made it to the end of the day only to realize what we thought we were going to have for dinner isn’t going to happen. Doing these two things will help you be more successful with your slow cooker meals.
