See how to free up some valuable space in your freezer and pantry. Use what you’ve got to meal plan. That is exactly how I built this week’s menu. Watch the live meal planning video and see just how easy it is to plan a menu around what you’ve already got on hand.
Use What You’ve Got
For this week’s menu I wanted to use up some of the items I have in my freezer and pantry. It’s a great way to meal plan.
Using what you’ve got reduces waste and saves money.
To create a meal plan using what you’ve got the first thing you need to do is create an inventory of what’s on hand. This is as simple as pulling out a piece of paper, going to the freezer, fridge & pantry and jotting down everything you see.
Next, you’ll want to think about what meals you can make with the items you have. Usually, as I’m creating my inventory list, ideas will come to mind. It’s important to make note of the ideas you come up with so you don’t forget them later.
Not quite sure what to do with your leftover fish, tortillas and cheese? Head over to Pinterest and type in the ingredients you have and see what recipes come up.
Or you can check out this list of “pantry meals” to spark your creativity.
