Staying in shape is a never-ending journey. This site was created to make being the healthiest, happiest version of you simple.
Things really do change when you turn 40. Staying in shape gets harder. But it doesn’t mean it’s impossible. In fact I believe I am in the best shape of my life now in my 40s.
I remember when I was fresh out of college, enjoying a hamburger & fries (fries are still my favorite) and an older co-worker telling me, “enjoy eating like that while you can!” They weren’t lying either. It’s so much harder to lose weight as you age. That’s why I believe in maintaining a balanced approach.
At What’s Working Here you’ll find easy to follow meal plans and recipes along with a number of helpful short-cut tools. I also share honest workout reviews and fitness tips to help you decide what program is right for you and how to stay on track.

I’m Leslie- a working mom who works from home, works out and constantly works on ways to do things more efficiently so I have more time for fun with my family.
A Little More About Me
I married my high school sweetheart, Chad, and we’ve got a teenage son. We live in a suburb just north of Houston, Texas.
I enjoy cooking, gardening, planning parties, organizing things and traveling.
I work full time from home in sales for a technology company that works with multi-unit restaurants.
I don’t have a dramatic weight loss story. In fact I actually weighed less after having my son. But I had no muscle definition and the dreaded pancake “mom butt”. About a year after having my son, I started doing at-home fitness programs through Beachbody, now BODi.
I struggle, just like you, to maintain my weight and fitness level. I know what it feels like to be healthy and strong. That’s why it’s so hard when things slip and I fall out of balance with my eating and end up feeling bloated and yucky. It sucks! But I do know what works and how to get back on track and that’s what I’m here to share with you.
I LOVE food. I eat every 3 hours. Don’t mess with my meal times. I plan a detailed menu every week, print it out and hang it on my fridge- Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner & Snacks. Yep, really. I share it here every week to help you plan (mostly) healthy meals for your family.
To be honest, I don’t enjoy working out. But I do enjoy the health benefits and how it makes me feel more confident about my body. I’m a fan of the BODi fitness programs and have completed more than 50+ different programs. Some multiple times.
