School is out this week which means Summer is here! We are just weeks away from our vacation and I’m continuing to focus on clean eating. If you’re looking to drop a few pounds before your Summer vacation, cleaning up your eating is the best way to get the results you want.
Luckily, clean eating is pretty simple. It’s basically just choosing foods that are the closest to their natural state – unprocessed, whole, healthy foods. Think veggies, fruits, whole grains and lean proteins. Avoid processed, fried, fatty foods and sweets.
I try to watch what I’m eating pretty closely before a vacation. But once we’re on vacation, let’s be honest, anything goes. I usually start out sticking to the healthy habits I’ve created but once things start to slip I just enjoy whatever foods I want. No guilt. You’ve got to enjoy life & the experiences and foods that you come across, especially on vacation.
When we return from vacation I usually go back to an 80/20 mindset- eating healthy for the most part and indulging from time to time.
