On this week’s Weekly Menu I’ve got warm, cozy meals planned for chilly nights. Many are simple meals made in the slow cooker.
Snow in Texas
We actually had some winter weather in Texas last week. We saw there was a chance before we went to bed so my son had me set his alarm for 11pm so he could get up and see if it was snowing. He didn’t wake up but I did and there were a few flakes. So I was surprised when my son woke us up at 6am like it was Christmas morning yelling, “It snowed!” We had a snowball fight and I recreated the picture we took last time it snowed 8 years ago.
When You Don’t Feel Like It
You may notice some of the meals on this week’s menu were also on last week’s menu. For whatever reason there were some nights last week I just didn’t feel like cooking. My advice to you, when you don’t feel like it – Don’t. My family was happy to eat whatever leftovers we had or even a bowl of cereal. The world kept turning and we all survived. It’s a busy time of year, give yourself a break.
The best thing about deciding not to cook when you don’t feel like it is it makes planning the next week’s meals even easier. Just be sure to freeze any meats that may go bad.
