Teacher Appreciation Week is coming up and I thought I’d share some ideas to show your child’s teacher just how much you appreciate them putting up with your child. Seriously, God bless teachers. I have no idea how they handle all those children without losing it on a daily basis. I totally understand why you see teachers at Happy Hour on Fridays. Teachers are definitely special people, especially those (like my Mom) who use their own resources and work countless hours after school to make sure their students succeed.
Here are a few teacher appreciation gift ideas to show your appreciation.
Smart Cookie
This is a simple one to make. You can either bake your own homemade cookies or slap a tag on some store-bought ones. Either way your child’s teacher will appreciate the thought and tasty treat. I baked Raspberry Linzer Cookies and packaged them in a jar with a simple ribbon and the tag “I’m one smart cookie thanks to you!”
On Target
Teacher’s love Target. The dollar spot is filled with so many classroom goodies. There’s also decor to make their classroom feel a bit cozier. Oh yeah, they’ve got school supplies too. To make the card, fold a sheet of paper with the card Target gift card on the inside. Next cut out a hole so the target logo of the gift card shows through. On the front write “Thanks for keeping (child’s name) on Target!”
Gift Card Wreath
Someone on our community Facebook page asked what teachers would really like to receive. Gift cards were the #1 response.
For Christmas we collected gift cards from the class and my co-room mom turned them into this great wreath. It was a big hit and my son’s teacher really enjoyed it. You could do the same for Teacher Appreciation Week.
Teacher Favorites
If you’re not quite sure what your child’s teacher likes just ask. Our PTO has all the teachers fill out a favorites sheet at the beginning of the year. The questions include things like favorite food, drinks, places to shop, room decor, etc. It’s a great idea so you can get your child’s teacher something you know they will really like.
What great gifts have you given your child’s teacher?
