If you’re like most moms, the thought of a family vacation doesn’t sound very relaxing at all. There’s the planning, then the packing and once you get there keeping up with the kids. But what if I told you the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa has a way that moms can relax on vacation and get a little “me time”- guilt-free!
Special thanks to the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa for providing spa services at a discounted rate. All opinions expressed are my own honest opinion.
How Moms Can Relax on Vacation
Let’s face it you probably planned out something special for each member of your family for your vacation. But what about you? You deserve something special too. A part of your vacation that’s just for you to relax and unwind, if only for a few hours.
I did just that on our recent trip to Kauai and it was heavenly. Here’s how you can enjoy some time to yourself relaxing.
2 Easy Steps
First, reserve your child, or children, a spot at Camp Hyatt.
Second, decide what you’ll do with your child-free time. I highly suggest booking a massage at Anara Spa at the Grand Hyatt Kauai. Let your husband make his own plans for the day or let him join you at the spa.
Get some time to yourself by sending your kids to Camp Hyatt. You don’t have to feel guilty for leaving the kids with your spouse. With your kids at Camp Hyatt he can enjoy some time on the golf course or spa time with you.
We sent our son to Camp Hyatt so we could enjoy an anniversary dinner when we visited the Texas Hill Country. It worked out great.
Camp Hyatt is for children ages 3-12. You can send your kids for a full or half day. Meals are also available.
Before you start feeling guilty about leaving your kids in day care on vacation, know that they are going to have a blast. Camp Hyatt Kauai activities include Koi fish feeding, lei making, hula lessons, pool time and interactive sessions with the resort’s parrots.
I booked Garden Massages for both me and my husband with Anara Spa at the Grand Hyatt Kauai. I prefer separate massages instead of couples massages. This way you can focus on your relaxation and not worry if your husband is enjoying his massage. Couples massages generally don’t involve any interaction anyway. You’re really just in the same room getting a massage.
When it came time for our massage we were escorted to His & Her locker rooms. I was given a comfy robe & slippers and assigned a locker to store my things.
Then I was lead to the outdoor waiting area to relax while I waited for my massage therapist. I would pay just to hang out here all day.
I propped my feet up and enjoyed some papaya infused water. A few minutes later I was warmly greeted by my massage therapist and led to my own private garden bungalow- or hale.
Once inside I was given the choice of aromatic massage lotions – Passion Fruit lotion, Coconut lotion and Monoi Tiare oil. I chose the Passion Fruit lotion. The smell was so heavenly I bought some to take home and relive my spa experience.
The experience of an outdoor massage was so relaxing. I could feel the breeze on my skin and hear the birds singing. A truly harmonizing experience.
After my massage I was escorted back over to the relaxation area. I enjoyed some delicious blueberry cake and more papaya infused water. They also offer an assortment of nuts and teas.
I’m so glad I planned a little “me time” during our vacation. Some parts of our vacation had not gone exactly as planned. I may have even had a mini melt-down at one point. This spa time was just what I needed to get out of stressed-out mom mode, back into vacation mode and enjoying time with my family.
So yes, moms can relax on vacation and not feel guilty about it. Do it for yourself, do it for your family.
