The countdown to Cali & Summer is on! We are flying out for our California vacation on the same day as school gets out for Summer. Which means it’s time to put our nutrition in check.
All About What You Eat
No matter how much you workout, what you eat, especially the older you get, makes all the difference in your fitness. In order to feel our best for vacation I’ve got us back on the 21 Day Fix portion controlled eating plan. It really helps me focus on eating more of the right foods and less of the unhealthy foods that tend to add fat and bloating to my midsection.
To make things easier this week I plan to do some meal prep on Sunday. I’ll go ahead and cook the meats for this week’s meals. Then when it’s time for dinner I just have to reheat and assemble, saving time.
Fresh From The Garden
The basil & cilantro from my garden are doing extremely well. I’m excited to find dishes to make use of them. It’s so fun to run out to the garden and pick fresh herbs and veggies for dinner. The Chicken Caprese on this week’s menu makes good use of the basil and the cilantro will be used in the Taco Pizza and Fish Tostadas.
I have both versions of the menu, the regular version and the other is a spreadsheet I found on Fancy House Road you can use to tally up your containers. The spreadsheet makes menu planning for the 21 Day Fix so much easier.
