April 2nd Weekly Menu

I’m cooking with Blue Apron again this week.  I really like how you can preview their menu and skip the weeks that you don’t want to receive shipments.  Not mention that the weeks that I cook with Blue Apron make my grocery trip so much shorter!  Check out my full Blue Apron Review to learn how the meal service works.

To round out the rest of this week’s menu I realized it was time to eat some of the things I’ve been storing away in the freezer.  I hate to waste food.  I usually have leftovers for lunch and on Thursdays we have leftovers from the week for dinner.  When there is still food leftover I try to freeze what I can, something my grandmother taught me.

Freezing Food

Be sure to freeze your leftovers in freezer bags, pressing all the air out, to prevent freezer burn.  Leftovers are only good for about 3-4 months in the freezer so you’ll want to be sure and clean them out every couple of months.

The Hamburgers (meat & buns) and Stuffed Peppers on this week’s menu are from the freezer.

    1. Thanks for stopping by Deanna! I really enjoy the Blue Apron meals but they are a little bit of work to put together. You still have to prep all the ingredients – wash, chop, etc. I wish everything came prepped and ready to toss together. They take about 45 minutes to an hour to prepare but they are worth the effort.

      That’s so sweet that you’re cooking for your parents. I’m sure they appreciate it.
