Valentine’s Dinner has become somewhat of a tradition at our house. Years ago before my son was born my hubby and I tried to celebrate Valentine’s Day by going out to dinner. We haven’t gone out on V-Day since. It’s the 2nd busiest day of the year for restaurants after Mother’s Day. Instead, I started making a special dinner for us instead. It’s a quick & easy menu that is just as good as any visit to a restaurant, without the waiting.
Valentine’s Dinner Menu
- Mixed Salad Greens with Grape Tomatoes & Balsamic Dressing
- Shrimp Scampi with Angel Hair Pasta
- Strawberries with Chocolate Fondue
- Wine
The shrimp scampi is delicious, easy to make and my child loves it! The recipe is from Cooking Light, bonus for eating healthy!
The chocolate fondue is another Cooking Light recipe. Instead of rinsing the strawberries I use a wet paper towel to wipe them down so they aren’t watery. If you slice them down the middle they kind of look like hearts.
That’s our sweet and simple Valentine’s. What does your family do to celebrate Valentine’s Day?
