Mapping Out A Fit Year

Fitness is always on the top of many New Year’s Resolution lists.  In order to keep my fitness goals I started planning out my fitness programs for the year (See my 2016 Plan).  I don’t really enjoy working out so having a program to follow helps me stay on track and stay motivated.  Also, I work out first thing in the morning to make sure I get it done.  As a non-morning person this mean my brain is not fully functioning so not having to think about what I’m going to do is a plus.  I literally roll out of bed, put on work out clothes, brush my teeth, pull my hair up in a messy pony tail, grab some water, consult my work out schedule, pop in the dvd and start following along.  Some days it’s a slow start, arms crossed, halfway doing the warm-up, yawning, pouty face.  But, eventually I get into it a little more and push harder.  Vacations are always a good motivator!

I’ve mapped out a workout plan for the year with all my favorite Beachbody programs to help me stay on the right track. Actually doing the programs helps me push myself a little harder because I like to check off the boxes and complete each program. Otherwise I end up picking the easiest or quickest workout just to get it done. Why I No Longer Go To The Gym & Favorite Beachbody Products

For many years I was a member of a gym, like ever since high school.  And while I’ve always known the importance of exercising and staying fit, going to the gym wasn’t something I particularly enjoyed doing.  As a wife and now mom there are just so many other things (laundry, meal planninggrocery shopping, etc.) that need to get done.  My husband on the other hand could spend hours at the gym.  He loves to workout.  Our approaches to the gym were very different.  I wanted to get in and out as quickly as possible. Before we had B, spending an entire Saturday morning at the gym was his idea of a good time, not mine.  I would anxiously watch the clock and think about all the things I needed to get done before I could do some actual weekend relaxing.  It happened to work out perfectly that I was 8 months pregnant when we moved and talked about switching gyms. One of the things we wanted in a new house was a “home gym”- among other things.  Luckily, we were able to find a home that met those needs.  I prefer working out first thing in the morning so I get it done and over with.  Otherwise, I’m tired by the end of the day and full of excuses.  With a new baby and an area to workout in at home I told my husband that I didn’t need a gym membership anymore- I think I’m going to try one of those Beachbody programs from the infomercials.  You know the ones you get sucked into watching. Cize Review

Cize Review

I love to dance so when I heard about Shaun T’s latest dance focused fitness program, CIZE, I knew I had to try it.  For all of my dance friends who haven’t danced in a while it’s a great way to get back into dance.  Since you’re in the privacy of your own home you don’t have to worry about what you look like.  You can literally dance like no is watching.  It feels really good to get into the music and just dance again.

Oh, yeah and you’re exercising at the same time!  CIZE is totally different from traditional exercise programs so I feel like it really helps me exercise different parts of my body and my brain.
