The Houston area is starting to recover from the devastating aftermath of Hurricane Harvey. Seeing how people have come together to help each other has been amazing. Those of us not having to gut our homes are helping others and trying to return to some sort of normalcy. For me that means planning what we are going to eat in my weekly menu.

Through all the devastation happening here in Texas with the flooding caused by Hurricane Harvey, I have been amazed at the outpouring of community support. Shelters are overflowing with donations. Volunteers are lined up to help. People are coming from all over the country to help those in need. It’s just amazing to witness. Before you head to the store to stock up on supplies to donate here are a few ideas on how to make your donation dollars go further.

We’re saying goodbye to Summer and hello to a new school year this week. We are supposed to start school on Monday but we will see what happens with all the rain we are expected to get from Hurricane Harvey.
