Bathroom Organization

You’ve probably been putting off the chore of cleaning out your bathroom drawers and cabinets.  These bathroom organization and clean-out tips will have you neatly organized in no time at all.

Thanks to a rainy weekend I finally cleaned out my bathroom drawers and cabinets.  It’s something I’ve been meaning to do for a long time. And it really didn’t take that long.  Here are some bathroom organization & clean-out tips to help you get your bathroom organized.

Bathroom Clean-Out

I have no idea why I’ve been keeping face lotions and make-up I’ve had for years . Many, many years. Like 6+ years.  Do I really want to put something that old on my face? Yuck!

I did a little research and according to this article from Good Housekeeping beauty products do go bad.  Worst case scenario they can cause infections due to bacteria.

Use the Infographic below to know when it’s time to toss your beauty products.

When To Toss

When to toss your beauty products

For the most part you want to measure how long you’ve had something from when you open it.  You can use a sharpie to write your own expiration date on your products.  My mom does that now after getting a rash from some old lotion.

Another good way to keep bacteria at bay is to clean your make-up brushes regularly.  Use hot water and vinegar to kill bacteria.

Using the guidelines above here are all the products I cleaned out of my cabinets over the weekend.

Bathroom Organization

After getting everything cleaned out, organize what is left.

Under Sink Bathroom Organization

Under the sink I use shelf liner so I can easily wipe up leaks from any product bottles. I used boring white but they have all sorts of colors and designs you can choose from.

Toothbrush drawer

The drawer next to my sink is where I keep my toothbrush, Q-tips, cotton pads, creams, etc.

Use an acrylic organizer to keep things sorted. It’s easy to clean and won’t rust like a metal or mesh organizer.

Make up drawer

These larger acrylic organizers are great for organizing make-up. The different compartments keep each type of make-up separate.

Brush drawer

This drawer  holds  brushes, combs and hair accessories.  An acrylic organizer  keeps headbands, clips and rubber bands separate.  Pin bobby pins to a card for easy access.

Hair Products

Under the hair drawer I keep my mirror, hair products and a basket with make-up and toiletry bags.

The green bag tucked next to the basket is an awesome jewelry organizer I picked up at Target. It has separate compartments for each piece so your necklaces don’t get tangled up and a place to put earrings.

jewelry organizers

These clear acrylic organizers stacked on top of each other keep jewelry organized while letting you see what is underneath.

Bathroom closet

If you’ve got a bathroom closet it’s the perfect place to keep extras of everything so you never run out.  For every product we have in the shower we keep a duplicate in the closet. There’s nothing worse than going to take a shower and not having any soap or shampoo.

Cleaning out and organizing your bathroom is quick and easy.  Baskets and organizers give you a place for everything making it easy to keep things tidy.
