While researching and Disney trip planning I came across the idea of adding “Extra Magic” to your trip through the awesome WDW Prep School website. I’ve been on trips before where they leave you goodies in your room while you are out at dinner and enjoying other activities. I loved it and always looked forward to seeing what we’d get next. So I also loved the idea of doing it for our Disney trip. Here are some ideas on how to add extra magic to your Disney trip planning, including free printables.
My 1st Visit
Through Disney Floral and Gifts I arranged for the My 1st Visit gift package to be delivered to our room. We checked in early so it wasn’t there when we got to our room, but by the time we came back from eating lunch and checking out the arcade it had been delivered. B loved it! I told him it came from Mickey. It had monogrammed Mickey ears, a monogrammed blanket, autograph book and a stuffed Mickey.
That was just the beginning of our “Extra Magic”.
Fairy Gifts
A fairy left B a note outlining our plans for the day, a park map and goodies every morning of our trip to help prepare him for what we were going to do that day. I went through B’s playroom to find items to bring and bought a few items at Party City and Target. I thought he might question how the fairy got his things but he never did. My answer would have been, Magic!
Party City had a really good selection of single items like a mini camera that had character pictures in it, a mickey-shaped bubble necklace, mickey ring pops and some other items. I packed each day’s goodies in a Ziploc bag so I could easily lay them out each night.
Printables
Here’s a rundown of our fairy visits and some printables you can download & edit so you can add extra magic of your own!
Travel Day
First, the morning of our trip B’s fairy left him an activity book, markers, a puzzle, mini camera, mickey jelly beans and glow sticks for the fireworks. To be honest he played on the iPad the whole plane ride and didn’t use the book at all.
Epcot
The day we went to Epcot the fairy left him a Crush toy and candy.
Hollywood Studios
Next we visited Hollywood Studios and the fairy left him Star Wars toys & fruit snacks and little Toy Story toys. *All the toys were from his playroom.
Magic Kingdom
Then we visited Magic Kingdom and the fairy left him pirate stickers, his pirate hat and some mickey bubbles.
Animal Kingdom
Lastly we visited Animal Kingdom and the fairy left him some dinosaurs and safari animals, all from his playroom.
Heading Home
The morning of our trip home the fairy left him a Mickey Mouse Pez Dispenser.
Disney World is magical enough already but these fun ideas for adding extra magic to your Disney trip planning make it even more special. Your child will cherish the 1st visit gifts forever. The fairy gifts help your child prepare for the day ahead.
